Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 12 featuring Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends!

It can definitely be difficult to decide what to create next when you are a crafter and you have a world of options in front of you. I absolutely love the Lawn Fawnatics challenges because they hone in on something just specific enough to give some guidance. Challenge 12 is to “create a scene.” While the options are still basically endless, it allows me to pull out my stamps and dies that I use to build my backgrounds and invoke a feeling. There are some cards you just look at and they transport you to a warm memory from your life or even a wonderful fantasy land. The latter is what I did using Lawn Fawn’s “Fairy Friends” set to build this wondrous scene.

I knew I wanted the background to be a rainbow and I ended up using Distress Oxide inks to create that effect because they blend so beautifully. I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet. To that, I added some stars from the stamp set and embossed others onto the background randomly for some sparkle.

To create the scene I used Lawn Fawn Birch Tree dies and Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Borders.

What I love about the dies I used to create the scene is that you can use any color cardstock you want to create completely different effects. I went with shades of dreamy forest greens and attached them randomly for a natural look.

I stamped, colored, and cut a bunch of the images out and used foam tape to adhere them. I just love the little fairy house and the mushrooms! The little details really help the scene come alive. I used the sentiment in the stamp set “have a magical day” on a piece of cardstock that I cut out and trimmed down to fit the card.

To finish the card off, I used Wink of Stella in clear to add a lot of glittery shine and some glossy accents on the mushrooms to make them look dimensional. I can’t wait to give this card to a friend or family member to help brighten their day. It’s very colorful and whimsically fun!
